After 17 wonderful years of Open Air Summer Shakespeare in Mona Vale Gardens, Top Dog Theatre have come indoors, to the Isaac Theatre Royal, to perform Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies and love story.
Twelfth Night is a fast-paced romantic comedy with several interwoven plots of romance, mistaken identities, drunken songs and dances, comical fights, and many practical jokes. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Cesario, and becomes a servant to the Duke Orsino.
What a fantastic opportunity to see one of the world’s most famous plays and some of Shakespeare’s most famous characters; Malvolio, in his yellow stockings, the wise jester, Feste and the drunken rogue, Sir Toby Belch. “A performance as never seen before”, says director, Derek Doddington. With a top-class cast, Twelfth Night aims to bring out every inch of comedy to attract all ages.
Presented by Top Dog Theatre and Isaac Theatre Royal.
