A two-day session with torch-fired enamels - designed as a stand-alone class or as a follow on from the fold formed jewellery class. Jewellery enamels allow you to fuse beautifully coloured glass onto the surface of your silver or copper jewellery. Ideal for earrings and pendants, this class teaches you to create simple and effective projects. Beginners choose from a selection of projects, ranging from simple enamelled discs on waxed cord for a simple sliding bracelet, simple shaped enamelled disc earrings, a larger pendant. There are materials to make a series of small simple pieces over the 2 days which will give you a great result! More advanced students may be able to create slightly more complex pieces, rather than using the pre-cut forms, however, the precut forms do allow you to make more use of the time to enamel! If you have done the fold formed class before this one, you can lay the enamels onto your pieces.
The copper shapes are perfect backgrounds for your enamelled pieces, and reduce the complexity (and cost) of the enamelling process. We use silver enamelling foil to create a silver background over your copper where needed.
Basic copper shapes are supplied as well as all enamels and silver foil. Additional items such as chains or earring findings are available at a very reasonable cost to allow students to choose what items they end up creating.
