More about MusicHelps:
MusicHelps provides practical, caring and confidential support for New Zealanders who make live or recorded music possible in Aotearoa through a dedicated 24/7 helpline, on-going counselling and emergency financial assistance. We also support projects that use music in healthcare, and with at-risk & vulnerable people. This includes music programmes in prisons, music therapy in hospices, and projects that use music to restore physical, cognitive, mental and emotional health lost as a result of disease and trauma.
More about Circle Jerks in NZ:
The history of Circle Jerks in NZ dates back to 2005, when a bunch of Hamilton bands - pissed off at the lack of acknowledgment of their city's music scene from the likes of NZ Music Month - decided to host their own event in celebration of their music community, with local bands playing covers of songs by other local bands. There were 10 Hamilton Circle Jerks held over the years, plus the Dunedin music community hosted their own Circle Jerk annually for some years as well.
