Hutt Valley Orchestra is delighted to present a programme of many favourite orchestral pieces.
From Beethoven's Egmont Overture and the stirring Sibelius Karelia Suite to the haunting Gymnopedie nos 1 and 2 by Satie and Elgar's Nimrod, there are pieces to appeal to all. Also featured are Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite with the memorable woodwind solos in "Morning", Bizet's Jeux d'enfants, the lively last movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony and the Tango "Por una Cabeza" by Gardel. This has been made famous as part of the sound track of several films including Schindler's List.
