Have you ever wondered how the professionals do their own printing? Kaye Davis is here to show us how!
With well over 20 years of photography behind her, Kaye is a highly regarded photographic artist, educator, and national and international judge. Her work today explores and celebrates the colour, detail, and beauty of nature through contemporary landscape, abstract, and illustrative fine art photography. Her awards include NZIPP Grand Master of Photography, AIPP Master of Photography II Bars, NZIPP Hon. Fellow. NZPOY (2013), 4 x NZ Creative POY. “The printed image gives life, tangibility, and permanence to what you create. The printed image is not transient like the digital image. The printed image is the fulfillment of the image-making process and has the ability to capture more of our senses, through its texture, smell, and even sound. The printing process forces us to slow down, shape, refine, and perfect, and as a result, we create a better quality image. The printed image brings about a more personal connection, meaning, and value to your work.”
This workshop will include how to prepare files for print, colour management, monitor calibration, paper types and choices, soft proofing, print viewing lighting, test printing and final printing.
CR Kennedy and Ilford have kindly sponsored us with a range of papers so we have the opportunity to print one or two pieces of our own work! How great is that!!! Bring a USB with some images, your own laptop if you have one and any prints that you already have that you would like to compare or have critiqued.
Ilford have also organised some goodies to give away on the night so you've got to be in it to win it!
Numbers are strictly limited so get in quickly to secure your spot.
