Nga Toi | Arts Te Papa is a new arts programme launched at Te Papa in March 2013. Thirteen gallery spaces on Level 5 each present a unique exhibition. Expect to see more art, more variety, more often – on Level 5 and beyond.
Level 5 now features 11 galleries, including Artist in Focus, Collection Focus, Contemporary, and Art & Change. Six-monthly updates will see completely new shows in these four galleries and many new works added to others. Up Front, a space at the entrance to the galleries, will change every few months.
Whare Toi | Arts Studio, at the heart of Level 5, shows a commissioned Artist Project. This is also a space where you can give your opinions and ask questions about art, and explore a range of interactive activities.
On offer for those wanting the in-depth story are expert essays, written by contributors from Te Papa and beyond.
Artist and curator interviews, video content, and music playlists are all available on your mobile device with free Wi-Fi throughout Level 5. You can also borrow a mobile guide from the Information Desk on Level 2.
