Russ Johnson is a foundation member of our club and at a public meeting in 1946 at the age of sixteen he was elected as our first club secretary. He has been a member continuously for the past 52 years serving as President and secretary for many of those years. In 1982 he was a foundation member of MANZ and served as President for 16 years. Russ is a life member of our club and MANZ.
Russ is still building models or restoring those that he built many years ago and can be seen out at our air-strip flying his 1/4 scale Citabria, his 1/4 scale Cessna Birddog, or his 1/3rd scale Spacewalker and Tiger Moth or any of his many other well built models .
Monthly club meetings are held on the 4th Thursday evening, usually with a guest speaker, and members are encouraged to bring along their latest building project for a "show and tell" session. Social events include the occasional bbq, monthly Friday drinks and an annual dinner and prizegiving. Keep an eye on the calendar for event dates and times.
