An Insight Into The Practical and Theoretical Aspects of Ecopsychology

Fundamental to ecopsychology is acknowledgement of the reciprocal relationship between humans and the natural world around us. From an ecopsychological perspective, we are a part of nature.

One aspect of the project of ecopsychology is the restoration of the disconnect between humans and nature.

The need for such awareness, and for practices which facilitate this reconnection has perhaps never been greater.

Felt experiential understanding of our psychological and ecological interdependence with nature brings about numerous benefits. Research has demonstrated significant enhanced health and well-being as a consequence of mindful time spent in natural places. Importantly, such experiences can also act as catalysts for more ecologically harmonious lifestyles.

This workshop will allow for exploration of our human connection to the web of life. You will experience how an ecological identity connects you with a greater sense of wellness and belonging with nature. It will provide you with a deeper understanding of the project of ecopsychology.

What’s covered in the 3-hour session?

A brief history of Ecopsychology.
