On Saturday 2nd October, the Navy Museum and Devonport Library will explode with stimulating free activities, celebrating culture and heritage in Tᾱmaki Makaurau – Auckland and you’re invited!
Fun Palace will celebrate and provide opportunities to learn about and experience Tᾱmaki Makaurau – Auckland our natural landscape, historic architecture, tᾱonga and the stories of our pioneering trailblazers that lived and worked in Devonport.
Discover the Museum’s newly restored mine stores and learn about the 19th century submarine mine station. Enjoy creating, learning and observing the passions and hobbies of the community at the Library – whether it’s sifting through recycled fabrics from our past to make your bunting, creating stories from old photographs or a chance to try something you haven’t done before. At the Navy Museum test your physical abilities, learn how to tie a knot like a sailor, try your hand at sketching Torpedo Ted, have a go at golf putting, learn about infrared and so much more! Heaps of fun, free activities suitable for all ages. We’re bringing together arts, science, culture, craft, tech, heritage and other activities but most importantly people – to work together, create together, have FUN together.
