Sharing stories from a life that straddles two very different cultures; arguing with mullahs; being an atheist in a religious, liberal family; planning the perfect murder; wandering outside the green zone in war torn Kabul; being stalked by a sheep in Coniston; and having tea with some terrorists in Kashmir.

Journey with Sameena to find out why fear is redundant, joy is essential, and terrorists can be a real hoot. Sameena Zehra is an award-winning performer, writer, director, and blues singer/songwriter. Before moving to Aotearoa, Sameena lived in the UK where she has performed at the National Theatre and toured internationally with the Royal Shakespeare Company. This is her debut show at Circa Theatre.

‘A master storyteller…’ — Three Weeks, Edinburgh

‘…an intimate atmosphere with all the warmth, energy and enthusiasm of a full house at the Apollo… Fluency, intensity and vivacity…’ — The Age, Melbourne

ACCESSIBILITY AT CIRCA

- ‘Pay it Forward’ Tickets
Now you can Pay it Forward! Purchase one ticket to Tea with Terrorists for someone who usually cannot afford to go to the theatre and Circa will find it a good home. Book here!

If you are interested in claiming a Pay it Forward ticket or nominating a friend, please contact the Circa Theatre Box Office Team on circa@circa.co.nz. This initiative is year-round, currently running in active collaboration with Tea with Terrorists.

- Choose Your Price Night on Tuesday 9 August
Our ‘Choose Your Price’ initiative lets you buy up to four tickets to a specific performance and opt what to pay for them. We encourage you to select a price based on what you can afford. This is a community driven initiative where people with higher incomes can select a relative ticket price that subsidises those who afford less to pay lower. It means more people are able to experience live theatre, and ensures that the production can still make enough money to cover its costs.

- Pre-show Touch Tours - Sunday 14th 4pm and Tuesday 23rd August 7pm.
- Relaxed performances – Saturdays 20th and 27th August 2pm.
- NZSL performances – Thurs 18th – Sun 21st August (4 performances) with a signed Q&A Thursday 18 August
