The Wanganui Model Railway and Engineering Society was formed in the early 1990s by the merger of the Wanganui Engineering Society with the Wanganui Railway Modellers club. The existing Engineering club room was extended and the new room houses the clubs large HO scale layout with the original room being used for meetings and also housing the two N scale layouts.
