Wickedly good hospitality from the team at Ratbags and Innocent Bystanders Bar & Restaurant, only 12mths old, overlooking the Octagon, Dunedin.
Ratbags & Innocent Bystanders opened in June 2010 and is a two storied venue, established from the remnants of the old Oban Hotel which occupied the site at the turn of last century and in latter years, by a small bar at ground level and rental accommodation on the first floor.
Ratbags, on the street level, is ideally located for passerby foot traffic and is a focal point for live entertainment in the evenings later in the week. It is also complimented by alfresco dining on the outside footpath amongst the city's vibrant dining scene, with 12 tables, umbrellas and awnings.
Innocent Bystander occupies the 1st level with access gained from both street side and internally from Ratbags. Famous for its eclectic dècor and "topless" bar, which is it's out side terraced area, Innocent Bystanders is extremely popular as both a chill out, private dining area by day and early evening, to a full on party zone late night.
