Join us for a 3 hour workshop where you will learn the foundations of the ancient Chinese internal art, 氣 Qi (energy) 功 Gong (cultivation).
The 3 foundational pillars of QiGong are Body, Breath & Mind.

We will begin with sharing some of the history and theory of QiGong, along with some of the Daoist, Buddhist and Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts. Knowledge is a key to open the multi-faceted lock of QiGong and deepen your practice!

We will then teach you simple principles of posture to optimally align the body when you stand and sit.
Following this, you will learn stretches to release tension and create more internal space and suppleness.
- If the body is misaligned and tense, Qi and blood cannot flow properly -

Without regulating the mind and breath, QiGong is largely ineffective. We will guide you through a meditative method to calm the mind and turn the attention inside the body.

People often think of QiGong as graceful flowing forms such as the Five Animals Frolicking or Ba Duan Jin. Whilst these forms are certainly Qigong, the way that many people practice them are more like nice dance-moves, they lack the ability to build and mobilise the Qi. One must learn to walk before they can run..

This event is suitable for young and old, healthy and sick, flexible and stiff, strong and injured, relaxed and stressed, those with no experience and those wishing to deepen their practice of the internal arts.

Wear loose, comfy clothing.
Bring water (preferably hot as it is easier for the body to utilise, helps blood circulation plus much more - Chinese medicine 101)
