The New Zealand Vision Feast Film Festival returns for its fifth year, presenting mind-melting locally and internationally produced feature length and short films, animation, music videos and more.
The Vision Feast recognises filmmakers who have poured blood, sweat and tears into their projects; filmmakers showing an aptitude for creative storytelling fused with technical skills and of course, a stroke of madness. For the 2021 festival, the special spotlight categories are Horror and Documentary, with the country spotlight focusing on France.
The 2021 Festival programme includes over 30 films, spanning genres, styles and creative storytelling techniques. Films in the programme are eligible for nomination in 17 Festival award categories, with the winners to be announced at a special screening hosted by Academy Cinemas in Auckland on Friday 14 May.
The evening is hosted by the fabulous Jen Van Epps (Together Forever Tea, The Sounds, Emilia) and features New Zealand filmmakers presenting their works, as well as the announcement of award winners. Winners are set to receive some incredible prizes, including two copies of Final Draft Screenwriting Software, and a $3000 rental voucher from Rubber Monkey for Best Aotearoa Project presented by communications extraordinaire and kaihononga Louisa Tipene Opetaia (Te Rarawa.)
Following the awards ceremony, the fun continues in Academy Cinemas’ bar, where filmmakers and audience members alike can enjoy drinks and networking at the after-party.
With tickets available for only $10*, there’s no better chance to join Vision Feast mascot Chompy for their Awards Screening. Each ticket also comes with a complimentary drink supplied by Pals.
Following the Awards screening, the Vision Feast Film Festival 2021 is available for all to experience online.
