On Saturday 2 July, come and celebrate Matariki at Cobblestones Museum.

Between 11am - 3pm Edith Rolls will be doing a talks on 'Discover Matariki'- taking you through the significance and meaning behind the celebration. This will be followed by a fun session with ti-rakau (traditional stick games).

While you are here enjoy a kapa haka performance by the local school. Kids can also make Matariki stars, along with other arts & crafts in the old school house.

Learn the art of harakeke weaving (a ticketed event) and go home with your very own konae. Tickets can be purchased through Eventfinda (limited capacity so get in quick).

There's plenty to keep the kids busy including old fashioned games like stilts, hobby horses, quoits, and hula hoops.

Relax in our beautiful surroundings with some mince pies, a gourmet sausage sizzle, Devonshire tea, coffee and cake from the cafe. Plus enjoy a festive Fireside Ale and some mulled wine. Food will be available from 12pm - 3pm.

Cobblestones Museum & Early Settlers Village is a fascinating heritage venue for all ages right in the heart of Greytown. Funds raised will be used to develop new exhibitions in the Historic Hastwell Stables and the Red Shed.

Entry by koha/donation.
