We’re very happy we can invite you to Matuku Link again, after a very ‘different’ year.
We’ve got loads of seeds to plant, trees to pot up, weeds to keep from smothering our natives plus lots to experience and admire: listen to the matata (fernbird), try to spot a pateke (brown teal), the eels, a weta or our elusive namesake matuku (bittern).

Have a walk on our recently finished boardwalk and see the upgrades to our barn, slowly transforming it into our Wetland Education Centre. Just to keep us all safe in this new, covid-filled world, if it is your first working bee, please contact Annalily on or 021-2207136

We finish with a shared lunch: bring something if you can, we provide hot and cold drinks and homemade soups when it’s cold, salads when it’s warm. No need to bring any tools, but do bring your own water bottle, wear sturdy (and super clean - remember kauri dieback!) shoes. It’s easily accessible, family-friendly, parking on site. Entry is opposite the Waitakere Fire Station.

If it’s nice weather, don’t forget that the most beautiful black sand beach is just down the road!

Hope to see you there,
Annalily & the trustees John Sumich, John Staniland, Geoff Davidson and Chad Wilkie
