After three postponements in August and September....Friday Night Live returns..... It's once a month, usually the third (sometimes the second or fourth) Friday. Grafia with it's core musicians, Keith Austin on keyboards and Rob Maunsell on vocals, guitar and harmonica, hosts and supports local musicians to play at the wonderfully atmospheric Coco Dessert Cafe /bar by the lake in Masterton's QE II Park.
There will be a variety of performers both solo and in groups of two ( sometimes more ) playing some original songs and other's that are covers of blues, folk-rock, Irish and Americana styles.
Grafia has a website that gives you a bit more info. The band will feature in several guises and is working on the programme for 17th September.
Six acts contributoring to October's show are:
The King St Artworks Choir will present cleverly harmonised old folk /pop songs before.....
Laura Cheetham a talented singer-songwriter formally from Masterton now studying fulltime at Victoria Uni.
Coral and Matt to delight us with their renditions of her favourite slightly raucous covers of garage grunge rock classics.
Saali Marks to entertain us with his impeccably creative originals.
Jonas and Catherine to entrance us with their selection of mid-European folk songs and ensemble instrumentals that invite everyone to participate in, before...
- Grafia with friends Mark Bradley on drums Eddie Karaitiana on guitar and percussion and to end the show Stefan Brown will join us on vocals and guitar.
Coco Dessert Cafe/bar is a great place to relax and begin your weekend, particularly after the uncertainties imposed on us by the recent lockdown. Hopefully, you've all come through that none the worse for the experience.
The menu for Friday Night Live is uncomplicated and very tasty, the service friendly and in time.
It's pay what you want, say whut!
Anytime during the show you can make a $ offering which will be gratefully received. A very enjoyable evening is guaranteed by Priscilla and her team at Coco.
