In 2007, Pete and Sharon Crean came up with a crazy idea to change the lives of vulnerable East Africans by giving them improved access to safe, clean drinking water. Thus BeyondWater was started. Now we have projects across a variety of countries building deep bore wells, school toilets, hosting health education days, installing water tanks and guttering and of course, our girls leadership program (The Girl Project).
This November we have an opportunity to join together for our first Auckland event of this kind.
Come along and celebrate the work of BeyondWater for a dessert and coffee evening. Invite yourself and your friends along to an evening of delicious desserts that will satisfy the supreme dessert lover in you, even if you're gluten or dairy intolerant. There will also be Kenyan Coffee and Tea available.
To keep things happening we'll have an auction, our sales table will be there with many handmade Kenyan goods, a photo booth to create memories and why not experience carrying water like a local of Africa? On the night we'll be linking up via video with some special people on the ground in Kenya. You'll also hear from some Kiwis who've had a hand in bringing about long term change to the 240,000 people we've helped to date.
The event is family friendly and open to anyone interested in our work. There's plenty of off-road, free parking outside The Picton Centre.
Your entry fee covers all food and drinks on the night. All profits go towards building more school toilets across East Africa.
