On Saturday 16 July, head to Cobblestones Museum for A Very Victorian Christmas.
Ride the old fire engine to lunch at Cobblestones from The Town Hall, from 11am - 3pm or make your own way there.
Then, come and see how the early settlers celebrated Christmas, admire our traditional Christmas tree in the Historic Church, play old fashioned games on the green and make Victorian-style decorations.
The Cobblestones Cafe will be open for lunch from 12pm - 3pm serving mulled wine, Christmas mince pies, coffee, Devonshire teas, cakes, a sausage sizzle and more.
There will also be old-fashioned games: stilts, hobby horses, quoits, or try your hand at hula hoops on the lawn.
As an addition, kids can also made a wooden Christmas decoration with Martin from Toymakers, to take home with them. Book and pay separately for the wooden toy workshops through www.toymakers.co.nz.
Cobblestones Museum & Early Settlers Village is a fascinating heritage venue for all ages right in the heart of Greytown.
Entry by koha/donation. Funds raised will be used to develop new exhibitions in the Historic Hastwell Stables and the Red Shed.
