Dux Dine is situated in a historic turn-of-the-century Villa that was originally the Station Master’s House for the Riccarton Railway.
The villa has been extensively but sympathetically reworked to provide a variety of spaces to be enjoyed whether you are a couple out for date night, a large group celebration at one of the huge Kauri tables, grabbing a morning coffee, enjoying a drink in the bar, meeting friends for lunch in the sun drenched conservatory or enjoying a platter in the sheltered courtyard garden.
The original homeliness of the villa has been maintained making Dux Dine welcoming and very comfortable but with many fun and quirky elements to be discovered and revealed over subsequent visits.

The Dux is proud of its strong relationships with local suppliers, growers and artisan producers, many forged over more than 30 years of Dux de Lux history.
Our seafood is of the highest quality and is caught locally in the cold waters off the coast of the South Island with an ever changing variety of species delivered fresh daily to the kitchen door.
Favourite staples are groper, gurnard, terikihi, complemented with seasonally available species such as scallops, oysters and whitebait.
The vegetarian dishes reflect the very best of what is seasonally available, complemented by seasonal herbs grown in our very own organic garden.
Our exclusively Kiwi beers and wines are carefully selected to represent the best of New Zealand’s bountiful offerings. We batch brew our own award winning beers by traditional methods to exacting standards. On offer are the famous Dux Lager, Delicious Pale Ale, Ginger Tom, and seasonal varieties. These are complemented by other choice New Zealand beers, and wines that are predominantly supplied by New Zealand artisan producers.
