Young singers are set to shine on stage at The Kids Sing festivals all around New Zealand in 2021. Twelve school choirs from Nelson/Tasman will be performing two contrasting songs and a massed choir song “I Love Life” by local songwriters Kath Bee and Doug Stenhouse. Each day the students will be rehearsing their songs and learning some new choral skills from the Guest Commentators Costa Simpson and Megan Flint. In the evening they will be performing all their songs for their parents and friends in the NCMA Auditorium.
Our Guest Commentator, Megan Flint is one of the most experienced choral directors of children’s choirs in the country. She is the co-author of Hear Our Voices, a handbook for leaders of children’s choirs and she presents the successful national workshop series Singing Matters for the New Zealand Choral Federation.
The Kids Sing Day - schools will be rehearsing from 1pm – 4pm.
The Kids Sing Evening Concerts will be for family and friends from 6pm – 7.30pm.
