Haere mai and welcome to a special wine and kaimoana dinner to celebrate Puanga – the Māori New Year.
Puanga is a time to gather cherished ones to reflect on the present, celebrate the past, and plan for the future. This Puanga, Haukai Bistro & Bar will present an immersive gastronomic evening together with Kono, an esteemed Māori-led food and beverage provider and hosted by Kono representative, Martin Bosley.
Martin Bosley is one of Aotearoa’s finest chefs. Living by the philosophy that we should eat what’s in season, what’s local, and what’s fresh, Martin will host this informative evening telling the stories behind Kono’s fine New Zealand produce and wines.
Echoing Kono’s ethos of love for the land and respect for the sea, Haukai Bistro & Bar Executive Chef Richard Ponder, in collaboration with Martin Bosley, has crafted a menu designed around four of the seven stars from the Puanga cluster: ocean, freshwater, trees and earth. This divine degustation will be exquisitely matched to Kono’s wines, Tohu. Tohu’s vibrant and award-wining vintages pay homage to their integrity as custodians of the land.
This extraordinary five-course degustation menu paired with Tohu wines will create an unforgettable and magical evening of celebration and culinary indulgence.
