Vasu Premkumar and Taylor Ruddle are almost complete opposites but share one common experience - living as a foreigner in another country. Vasu’s family moved to NZ when he was 7 years old, and Taylor moved to Japan when he was physically 22, (mentally 7 though). These experiences serve as the basis for The Foreign Exchange, a night of hilarious stand-up comedy from two very funny fellas brought straight to Methven for one night only!
Taylor Ruddle’s comedic style has been described as “Disarmingly laid back, with a twinkle in his eye disguising a sharply honed wit” and he himself has been described as “A natural comic” and “Unreal”. At the foreign exchange he will be riffing on culture shock, intercultural relationships and the many misadventures caused by language barriers overseas.
Vasu’s comedic style is wide ranging, known to be extremely witty, brutally honest and is constantly evolving. He will be joking about his life growing up in New Zealand and the ambivalent nature to his experience.
The show is fairly family friendly, but there will be some risque topics and language used, it’s probably fine for teenagers, but best to leave the little ones at home!
Food and drinks will be readily available courtesy of our hosts for the night, Arabica.
