Explore, make, learn, discover and play together. Join us for family fun celebrating the Māori New Year. A range of traditional activities inspire and engage our youngest audiences about Matariki. Open all school holidays, no bookings required, just drop in!

Understand the importance of the Maramataka in Matariki festivities and have a quiet space to reflect. The interactive sculpture BLOOM will keep busy hands building, while weavings and shadow puppet making will keep all ages focused and happy.

We have selected particular art works from our collection to link together the art, science and culture of Matariki.

Thanks to Capital E for the interactive sculpture BLOOM and Masterton Library for the audio books.

Free entry, donations welcome.
