This year's F&B Conference will look at bringing back the abundance of the past – an Aotearoa where kākāpō were one of the most common forest birds, and billions of birds nested right from the mountains down through extensive forests to the sea. We'll be joined by the Minister for the Environment and of Oceans and Fisheries David Parker; the Minister for Climate Change, James Shaw, will also be speaking and participating in our Climate Change Panel discussion; and we'll have an address from Acting Minister of Conservation Dr Ayesha Verrall.

With eminent nature writer and broadcaster Alison Ballance as MC, we’ll be hearing from leaders and change makers such as Chief Science Advisor Prof Dame Juliet Gerrard, earth-systems scientist Dr Dan Hikuroa, ecologist Dion Pou, and Naomi Aporo, who will present a session on Te Mana o te Wai, the framework of freshwater values and principles.

Hon James Shaw will be joined by Birdlife International’s Dr Stephanie Borrelle, Sheridan Waitai of Ngāti Kuri, business journalist Rod Oram and Wellington city councillor Tamantha Paul in a stimulating Climate Change Panel discussion.
