Where there’s quality ale and cider, there’s always good food.
The latest addition to Hawke’s Bay’s culinary scene extends the horizon for the region’s gourmets into new territory, the exciting flavours that come with blending good food with crafted beers and ciders.
Beautifully situated and surrounded by acres of orchard, The Cider Tree Cafe is a classy eatery offering café-style casualness and restaurant-level food. Made from the freshest seasonal produce, Chef Richard Wards has developed a diverse menu with each dish being a perfect accompaniment to your favourite from the Filter Room range.
For Richard, who has long experience in food and wine matching, moving to The Cider Tree has revealed a new food-beverage vista of inspiration, and he’s loving it.
Using local produce and the beers and ciders made just a few metres away from the kitchen door, Richard has developed a sophisticated menu that will come as an eye-opener for those unacquainted with the exciting possibilities through pairing quality food with boutique-brewer beverages.
Everything is made on site, and as well as the beer and cider, there’s a good selection of wines, most from Hawke’s Bay.
