Our Tauiwi/Open Session - 3 sessions fortnightly from 12 May 6:30-8:30pm
Māori Only session - 3 sessions fortnightly from 19th May 6:30-8:30 pm
Entry is free for Māori, or by koha for tauiwi - this helps support the space and the provision of vegan snacks.
E te tī, e te tā, e nga manu e whai ana i Te Reo Rangatira, nau mai, haere mai ki tō Understorey Whare Tīhau. He kaupapa tēnei mō tātou katoa, ahakoa pī atu, kaikōrero matatau atu, tukua te reo kia rere!
Whare Tīhau alludes to a space filled with the twittering and chirping of birds, a metaphor for the sound of voices chattering and conversing in te reo Māori. This is a space for speakers and learners to come together and kōrero. Whether you have a little or a lot of reo, you are invited to come and use what you know!
We will begin together with karakia and waiata at 6:30 pm, after which there will be a range of reo Māori games and activities provided, alongside resources to support you to kōrero at your own level. Paramanawa will also be provided.
Please note this event is capped at 30 attendees, register your attendance via the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1HWreD0-wGkcsltO9-3yHROZ9zSqWDrcSwGdtcqY-EGU/edit?fbclid=IwAR17k3LuPWacID8D9J8gvf6pPsmofB-Uh3QR0tnT83ddA0XXi0x5mXnruno
