This 8-day silent retreat will included mindfulness meditation and guided meditation on Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Some of the main topics covered include:
- Suffering and its causes
- The mind and mental afflictions
- Death and rebirth
- Bodhicitta – the mind aspiring to enlightenment for the benefit of others
- Shamatha meditation – developing a calm, clear and focused mind
- Vipashyana meditation – gaining insight into the nature of reality
This retreat is suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. It provides not only an extensive introduction into the theory and practice of the path to enlightenment but is also an excellent opportunity for more advanced students to deepen their understanding and practice.
The daily schedule will include Dharma talks, meditation and yoga/mindful movement sessions. The retreat will be in silence, but full instruction and support will be given to all participants.
