On 26th and 27th February 2022, Run NZ Run is staging New Zealand’s Great Big Charity Fun Run (NZGBCFR).
This will be 3km, you can Run or Walk it and if it takes 2 days, that’s fine as well.
Many Charities have been affected big time by Covid-19 and they haven’t been able to raise the necessary funds required to do the great work they do.
Run NZ Run wants to help all Charities raise the funds they have missed out on with holding this Virtual Run/Walk that can be held anywhere at anytime on the 26th and 27th of February. There are no concerns of cancellation, just do the 3km as safely as you can. It can be done anywhere, even at home around the house, on a treadmill, in the gym, in the park anywhere. It can even be part of another actual event, just time 3km of that event and upload it. It all helps the Charities.
We want everyone in New Zealand doing this and raising as much as we can for these chosen Charities.
This is the Inaugural Year of the NZGBCFR and we have a number of Charities to pick from when you register. If you are involved in a Charity and want to be one of the chosen Charities, get in touch with us about registering.
How it all works:
First registration is FREE
When you register you can purchase the NZGBCFR Medal as Memorabilia and $2.00 from this will go to your chosen Charity.
When you Register you can Donate to your chosen Charity from the list of Charities involved. Donation amounts are from $5 to $1,000. It could be that you are making your donation on behalf of a number of people. All donations go direct to your chosen charity.
You will receive a confirmation email with your Registration, where you can download your Race Bib, print it off and wear it on the 26/27 February. If you don’t want to wear it that's no problem - it's up to you.
Run/Walk your 3km, time yourself. Then upload your time by clicking on the link that came with your registration.
It is as simple as that and we publish all the times. Plus keep you up to date with funds raised through Run NZ Run.
Some of the Charities will be doing other fundraising on other Charity fundraising pages. These amounts we won’t know what they are until the end of the event, and we will let everyone know how much has been raised.
All medals will be ordered on the 28th of February and take approximately 20 working days to arrive. The medals will be sent to you by Courier track and trace, you will know when it is coming.
