Dunedin's hippest Big Band play two full sets of contemporary jazz, including tunes by Steely Dan, Pat Metheney, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Florian Ross and band director Bill Martin.
Isaac Randel is an emerging tenor saxophonist who has already won multiple awards for his playing at competitions across the South Island. He is a regular soloist for the DYJO and is known for his soulful and bluesy sound, as well as a tendency to "go for it" at the right moment.
The DYJO is a selective big band for young players under the age of 25. It features soloists Finn McKinlay (trombone), Albert Bauemer (guitar), Jayden Jesudhass (alto) and Tobias Devereux (trumpet).
