Have you been wondering what is good to eat that is not from the store? And scared to eat wrong stuff?
I will show you my favourite easy accessible species to forage and share thoughts on living a richer life!

FORAGING benefits:

1. Learning about plants enriches your life.
2. Free food.
3. No plastic.
4. No food miles.
5. Wild edibles are healthier for you, they are as nature intended. They have stronger immune systems for the area where they grow - harvesting local can help boost your own immune system.
6. Diversifies your food.
7. Getting a Vitamin D, breathing, connecting.

This workshop is suitable for all creatives, makers, nature enthusiasts, chefs most welcome!

Kids come free - with one paying adult.

Tutour: Ari Senior – architect, artist.
Made Christchurch her home in 2002. She currently works on the Christchurch rebuild and involved with heritage buildings.
Arina has a degree in architecture from Siberia, Russia. Arina grew up with two grandmothers who taught her most of the arts and crafts she knows today. Living in a remote land fostered her respect for natural resources.

Recycling, conservation, sustainability.
Te Reo sums it in the word - Kaitiakitanga. Everything we do in life has to be done sustainably, casting thought for the future.

What we will do: walk in the beautiful gardens to detect natural edibles of this season (allow approx. 2 hours walking).

What we will learn: how to identify edibles including seeds, mushrooms, greens and some yummy recopies for them.

What to bring: lunch or snack, a bag, a notebook.

Meeting at the Ilex cafe main entrance into the Information Centre side, by the river platform. Rain or shine, dress for the day.
