Back from their premiere at Whangārei Fringe 2020, award-nominated show SHE + THEY (Best New Work - NZ Fringe 2020 & Accessibility Award - Whangārei Fringe 2020), returns for an encore performance for ONE NIGHT only.
Local transgender couple Willow (SHE) and Ren (THEY) are known characters in their hometown of Whangārei. But their relationship takes a turn when both simultaneously begin their hormonal medical transitions in the year before their planned wedding.
Physical changes are welcomed, but traversing the gap between testosterone and estrogen has a seismic impact on the way each relates to themselves and their environment. With an emphasis on the lesser told stories of second puberty and the "nature" of gender, Ren and Willow share the surprising joys and heartbreaks of a couple re-mapping their way back to one another.
