Also known as Awareness Through Movement®, these classes do wonders to ease muscular discomfort and tension as well as improve mobility, coordination, balance and sense of wellbeing.
In each "Not Yoga" class you are verbally guided through movements that involve your body and your brain.
The innovative combination of awareness and movement turns on your brain's "learning switch". This allows you release old, unhelpful movement patterns and discover new ways of moving that are easy AND pain-free. (It will also help improve your yoga practice if that's your thing).
You always work at your own level of comfort and we operate on a No Pain, More Gain approach.
Plus we take lots of rests along the way to help embed the benefits (and who doesn't like a little rest every now and then?).
We have a fun, supportive community vibe in our classes and welcome all body types and levels of experience.
It doesn't matter if you've never tried yoga or Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement ® class before or you've been doing it for years.
Classes are held at the airy, bright and spacious Movement Works Studio in Jervoistown, Napier in a beautiful orchard setting.
