How to Parent Without Losing Your Mind – Strengths-Based Parenting

Feel like whatever you say is falling on deaf ears and want new strategies for parenting? Discover a fun approach to parenting and communicating using a strengths lens. We offer tips and tools to turn ‘argh’ moments into ‘aha’ moments and find the joy in parenting.

Come along and enjoy the interactive tools and resources as we explore the following topics:

◊ Understand strengths as the DNA of how we think/feel/act; illustrating the diversity of strengths and the basis of how they are developed.

◊ Strengths as compelling motivators; learning to strengths spot for your children.

◊ Brain states and emotion; appreciating the impact on behaviour.

◊ Reframing behaviour; applying a strength lens to interpret and respond to your child’s behaviour and needs.

You’ll take away insights and strategies to implement a strength lens at home, improve communication and find the joy in parenting.

This workshop is for parents, grandparents and caregivers.

By the end of the course/workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Define strengths and what we mean by strengths-based parenting/strengths-based lens
- Unpack motivations for thinking/feeling & behaviour
- Discuss factors that impact behaviour and a person’s ability to self-regulate
- Begin to recognise personal qualities and attributes (strengths)
- Practice reframing behaviour using strengths-based lens

Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".

This workshop is for parents, grandparents and caregivers.

Presented by Danette Muollo, Elise Anderson.
