Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This workshop will run over two Saturdays 1 and 8 May 10am - 2pm with Libby Brookbanks.

Come and spend a weekend considering the beauty of our native birds. We will discuss different species and each produce a painted panel to pay homage to our native aviators.

Day one will include practical instruction on drawing methods capturing the unique characteristics of our endemic species.

Day two will focus more on painting techniques and methods used to capture the qualities of our exquisite feathered friends. You will complete the course painting your image onto a wooden panel and taking home your own pack of paints and a brush.

What to bring: Bring your lunch each day. We'll provide tea and coffee in the staff room. All materials are included within this course fee.

Who should attend?
Anyone eager to explore a new subject or approach to illustrating birds.

Our mission is to provide quality affordable and accessible lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
