A Training In Somatic Movement Education in the tradition of Thomas Hanna.
The aim of this training is as a starting point in developing a group of people / teachers who have the set of skills, knowledge and personal practice to teach Somatic Movement Education in the tradition of Thomas Hanna. Enabling their clients to have access to this body of work that is so helpful for chronic pain, stiffness, immobility, fatigue and general function in life.
No prior experience or knowledge is required to participate in this training. On a personal level this is an opportunity to explore and learn how to restore easy fluid movement, lower stress levels, improve breathing and take charge of many pain issues.
For teachers of movement, yoga, exercise or such like this is an introductory level training for including Somatic Movement Education in the tradition of Thomas Hanna in your classes.
What you will learn:
- The primary reflexes and self-care movements relating to them.
- What sensory motor amnesia is and how to change this into sensory motor awareness.
- Pandiculation, the technique Hanna used to release chronic tight muscles.
