Welcome to Matariki Chinese Multicultural Festival 2020!
This is going to be the first big gathering of the wider diverse communities in the west Auckland since the country went into level 1 under the pandemic management. We are proud of our diverse communities in the west Auckland area, and would like to take an opportunity to organise this event in July, in combination of the celebrations of the Matariki, the Maori New Year and multi-cultures such as the Chinese, Pacific, Indian etc, which would be a great platform to reaching out to our wider communities in west Auckland, particularly following a Covid-19 which affected everyone all over the world. It is the communities' good wishes to use Matariki as an occasion in remembering the people who passed us and celebrating new life and new hopes.
This event will be blessed by our local Kaumatua, Matariki storytelling; singing and dancing cultural performances from many diverse groups including Maori, Pacific, Indian and Chinese etc; cultural experiences such as paper cutting, shadow puppets, painting and craft making; as well as children entertainment.
Bring your friends and families, let's celebrate together and have fun!
