Manawatu Tattoo 2020 - Celebrating Women in the Arts:
The world can’t do without women and the Manawatu Tattoo wants to prove why. The spectacle in September will showcase women in the arts, those that sing, those that play and those that dance. Nearly 250 local, national and international performers will present a spectacle of sound and sensation.
Special guests are Bras and Brass, Piping Pink and stellar entertainer, Suzanne Prentice. Suzanne is back by popular demand and will be one of the many highlights of the Tattoo.
Bras and Brass are an all women brass band who come together from around New Zealand to entertain and raise money for breast cancer research. Piping Pink are female pipers and drummers from throughout New Zealand who will present a montage of numbers and then join Bras and Brass and Suzanne Prentice to perform several concerted numbers.
The extensive line-up includes Vicki Lee, who’s been endorsed by Dame Vera Lynn to keep her legacy alive. Vicki will perform several Vera Lynn classics as a procession of vintage military vehicles move sedately into the stadium. Other performances by Highland, Scottish Country and Contemporary Dancers, Choirs, a Horse Trainer and Rider, Kapa Haka, and much more.
