A tender and thoughtful film which explores experiences of migration, displacement, family and identity. Henry Golding is superb in this gently paced drama. Kit (Henry Golding) is a young British Vietnamese man. At just eight years old he and his family escaped Saigon as 'refugees'. After 30 years and in search of a place to scatter his parents' ashes, he returns to Vietnam. No longer familiar with this country and unable to speak the language, Kit embarks on a personal journey, discovers his estranged family and falls for Lewis, an American whose father had fought in the war.
