Hastings Choral presents the 'The Childhood of Christ' a Christmas Oratorio by Hector Berlioz.
This work is presented in three sections describing events that occurred in the early Child hood of Christ. The first describes the edict by Herod that all infants are to be massacred. The second is concerned with the flight of the Holy family to Egypt after being warned by angels and the final section portrays the arrival in Egypt where they are given refuge by a family Ishmalites.
Joseph Christensen conducts the choir of over seventy, and soloists Giselle Clement, (soprano) Lindsay Marshall, (tenor), Michael Morgan (Baritone), Richard Harris (bass), accompanist by pianist Vanessa O'Neil.
