Waiuku Museum is situated on the Tamakae Reserve beside the Waiuku Estuary. The museum offers a pioneer experience with permanent and changing displays of Maori and early colonial artifacts reflecting the area’s maritime and agricultural past. There is also a collection of historic buildings including Hartmann House, Pollok Cottage, Maioro School, a dairy, lock up and the old Anglican vestry. The museum offers assistance with genealogy and historical research and schools and tour groups are very welcome. Couriers are also available for district bus tours.
