Celebrate World Wetlands Day in the Waikato with a family fun mystery tour themed around our freshwater apex predator, the long-fin eel. We are planning a self-drive Tuna Hikoi/Eel Journey to explore the Waipa District's wetlands, learn about eels and their habitats and compete for prizes.
Organised by the National Wetland Trust in association with Ngāti Apakura, the Department of Conservation and Waipa District Council.
