The Technology Hub is an innovative Kiwi education company established in 2011, specialising in the teaching and learning of Digital Technologies. We work with teachers and schools across New Zealand and children in our local community. Our first Digital Discovery Centre opened in Taupō Town Centre in October 2018.
Our new Centre has a specialist computer suite equipped with the latest Raspberry Pi computers. These credit-card-sized computers are suitable for both desktop and physical computing applications. We also have a library of HAT’s (Hardware Attached on Top), Arduino boards and add-ons that enable rapid modelling and prototyping, whatever the project.
We support Open Source and use free-to-use software at every stage so that learners can continue with their projects at home with no additional costs. We also have two 3D printers using both ABS and PLA materials. We use recycled materials wherever possible and encourage prototyping and modelling using cardboard and paper-based materials.
Our after-school, Homeschool and school holiday enrichment programmes incorporate STEAM learning with Digital Technologies. We focus on creative play and exploration to give your child the confidence to actively engage in these areas. Enrol your child now for Term 2 2019, or check out our Creative Tech Holiday Programmes now booking.
