Based in Kaka Point New Zealand, Ronél Hunter is a Singer Songwriter and a busy Mother of three. Originally from South Africa, Ronél played at the local folk festivals, before she settled in New Zealand in 2009.
Ronél writes songs about real life and is a firm believer in being real and being yourself.
Some of her musical influences include: The Cranberries, Tracy Chapman, Guy Clark, Dolly Parton, Karen Zoid and Alanis Morissette to name but a few. Her focus is on the story a song has to tell, rather than sticking to a genre.
On the 20th of March, Ronél will be releasing her debut album and she will embark on a tour around NZ. On the 16th of May, she will be Joined by Valley Bluegrass Band for an album release night at Fitzpatricks Irish Pub. Valley Bluegrass will be playing from 7 Pm to 9 Pm.
