The 2019 Woodbourne Half Marathon event features a social half marathon walk & hybrid commencing at 9:00am, a half marathon run commencing at 10:00am and 5 & 10km fun runs/walks commencing at 10:15am on Sunday 18 August 2019.
Half Marathon distance entries close on 16 August 2019. Late entries will be accepted up till 8:30am on race day for the walk and hybrid events and 9:15am for the run. Late entries are only taken at the registration desk on Race day. An additional fee of $10.00 will be imposed on late entries. Online entries via Eventfinda will incur a $3 booking fee.
10km and 5km Fun Run entries will be accepted up to 9:45am on race day at the registration desk. There is no late fee charged for the fun runs.
Hybrid Run. This event is for those wishing to do a non competitive half marathon with a mix of walking and running. Runners expecting to take longer than 2 hours to complete the run should enter the Hybrid event. This is a social event, so there are no placing prizes.

The Woodbourne Community Centre will be open for registration and late entries from 7:30am till 9:45am on race day.

The 1/2 marathon is run over a measured one-lap circuit (NB this is not a registered course) The course has changed slightly for 2019 for traffic management reasons and will have slightly more off road running. If you would like a map of the course please email wbhalfmarathon@NZDF.mil.nz. the course encompasses some of the regions vineyards and consists of a mixture of sealed road, unsealed road and farm track. The course is reasonably flat apart from a small hill at the top of Wrekin Road. The area of the course over the Wrekin is private land and is not open for public use except for this event. The start and finish area is on the grass field opposite the Woodbourne West Gymnasium, adjacent to SH 6. Water will be available at 5km, 10km, 15km, 18km and at the finish.
The course for the 5km fun run is a completely off road circuit of the vineyard to the west of Woodbourne. The 10km course is two laps of the 5km course. Water will be available at 2km and 7 km.
The weather can be quite variable at this time of year. Entrants should be prepared for a temperature range of 5 to 15 degrees and the possibility of a cold cross wind and rain.
Showering, toilet and changing facilities are available at the Start/Finish area. A portaloo will be available at the 10km aid station on the half marathon course.
Spot prizes will be available at the finish. Results will be emailed out and will also be available on the Woodbourne Half Marathon Facebook page.
Food and drink will be available at the finish area.
