Hypnotic trance-pop trio My Baby will be hitting New Zealand for a slew of amazing performances this February and March 2020. In support of their latest release 'My Baby Live!', the group are set to play Raglan, Auckland, Mt Maunganui, Takapuna, New Plymouth, Wellington, Motueka, Christchurch, Dunedin and Hokitika.
My Baby (whose members are Daniel "Da Freez" Johnson, Joost Sheik van Dijck and Cato van Dijck) released 'My Baby Live' last November 15, 2019. It features a live recording of their songs, exactly the way they are performed on stage. Though it has always been a challenge to put long live jams on a record, the band have still achieved what they were aiming for.
"On stage we always get such an amazing feedback from the audience, which feeds and gives great energy to the show, so this recording was especially tough." - Cato van Dijck, My Baby’s lead singer
Formed in 2012, My Baby are a formidable act who have flawlessly infused gospel and blues with ancient folk melodies. Their music has the rawness of '70s' funk, African desert blues, Moroccan gnawa, Indian raga and a touch of EDM. Unsurprisingly, their danceable beats and captivating live shows have taken the world by storm—building up a dedicated and loyal cult-following. Across their spanning career, they've played some of the world's biggest festivals including 'Glastonbury', 'Isle of Wight', 'Sziget', 'Fusion' and 'Exit'.
