To celebrate 25 years of their groundbreaking album 'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)', American hip-hop troupe Wu-Tang Clan will be playing their first-ever New Zealand headline shows, hitting Christchurch and Auckland this December.
Bringing together the full lineup of the legendary Wu Tang Clan was no easy feat, with promoter Gareth Popham stating, "this is a show we've been wanting to do since Fuzen began 19 years ago and we couldn't be happier to announce it today."
The group got their name from a powerful, mythical kung fu sword wielded by an invincible congregation of warriors. Apparently, the crew is comprised of a loose collective of nine talented MCs—Ghostface Killah, Method Man, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, RZA, Raekwon, Masta Killa and Cappadonna—who formed in 1993 and turned the hip-hop world on its head with their approach to the industry.
"The unique bond of nine emcees from different (and often rival) neighbourhoods made Wu-Tang Clan a truly unique entity in hip-hop music's history. And it all started with '36 Chambers'..." - HipHopDX.com
2018 marks the 25th anniversary of their album '36 Chambers' and this is the first time Kiwi audiences will see the full lineup perform on one centrestage.
"Time has done nothing to lessen the impact of these tracks." - Pitchfork
"The grimy masterpiece that rocked and shocked the nation." – Spin
The Wu-Tang Clan are all set to play their action-packed performances this December, so don't miss out!
