With an impressive career spanning over a decade now, homegrown electro-dub ensemble Knights of the Dub Table are back for a run of shows across New Zealand, hitting Waihi Beach, Gisborne, Hamilton, Auckland and Raglan in January and February next year.
Four years since their memorable 'Dedication' tour, the Knights of the Dub Table are returning to bring their third and most recent EP 'Brotherhood'—an album that'll showcase the hard work this dubtronic band puts into mastering their craft.
Since forming in 2008, the Hamilton-based group have dived into sonic frequencies, taking audiences on high energy and dynamic live journeys. Their sound has evolved alongside their creative discoveries and musical passion over the years. Deep heavy bass lines, three vocalists/MCs, punchy horn lines, and high energy beats are what makes their live performance a truly dynamic and exciting experience. Tronic drums, along with dub effects and sonic sound triggers are what make up the band's 'Dub Table' element—a core and integral part of their live music arrangements.
The Knights of the Dub Table have taken pride in producing, composing and developing all their own music, sound effects, and lyrical content. Frontman, Mr. Samy'samson is responsible for the recording, production, and mixing of all their releases to date.
In 2009, the Knights of the Dub Table took home the first prize at the 2009 York Street Band Experiments. The same year, the Knights release their first EP 'Tronic' containing four original tracks and five bonus remixes from Tiki Taane, Optimus Gryme, AUM, Undertow and their very own Mr. Samy'samson. The Knights then went on to release their 'Sing It To Me Remix' EP digitally through Amplifier NZ in 2010. The following year, the band launched their debut album 'Way of the Dub' which received rave reviews amongst the media and was also nominated for a Maori Music Award. The Knights of the Dub Table have been featured in some of the well-renowned compilation CDs including 'The Best Of Conscious Roots' 2012, 'Dub Zealand' 2011 and international digital compilation with EDI Productions (Europe).
Throughout their career, the band have shared stages with some of music's most iconic artists including, Katchafire, Ministry of Sound (AUS), The Black Seeds, Kora, Groundation (USA), Nesian Mystik, Optimus Gryme, the Open Souls, Rhombus and many others.
