A Wana Ake Festival event.

Mihi ki ngā Ringa Waihanga: Ngatu
Celebrating Makers: Ngatu

Meet members of the Akomai Heritage collective and see ngatu (Tongan tapa cloth) that they’ve made right here in Aotearoa New Zealand.

As well as displaying ngatu made by members, Akomai Heritage will host three public workshops. You are invited to join the grandmothers, mothers and children of Akomai Heritage to learn about making ngatu the Tongan-New Zealand way.

See the Te Papa website for full details.
