How Emotions Operate (Subject and dependent on COVID level status)
From the Buddhist point of view, we cannot overcome certain forms of negative emotions without understanding how emotions operate. We have to do meditation to calm ourselves down, however we cannot really overcome negative emotions by simply doing that. If we only do that, and we don't go beyond that in trying try to understand how negative emotions arise, we are just doing a band-aid job.
Buddhism says if we really understand our emotional life well, we will be able to live a robust and vibrant life.
Through weekly dialogues we hope to promote understanding the Buddhist views on a variety of subjects such as emotions, suffering, fearlessness, etc, and in doing so laying the ground for further discussions.
